Bright blue and green

I used NARS products for this look. Mostly the Rated R eyeshadow duo, with  bit of Outremer.
I also have some blue gel liner, I think the Bobbi Brown one, but I'm not sure... I need to seriously start taking notes when I do my make up. Usually I just do it, take a couple of pictures with my phone and then go to work and forget about it for weeks.

Crazy makeup

I missed Halloween this year because I had to go meet my brand new niece in Europe. So, when I got back I was a little bummed that I didn't get to do something crazy. One night I felt like really doing something random, and this is what happened! It ain't pretty, but I had fun doing it. :D

Recent nail experiments

I was generally proud of this experiment, especially counting that I'm not a pro, I'm not very arty, and I just started playing with nail art. The only thing is that I messed up the thumb with the top coat. I need to remember to wait a little longer when I have so many different coat on. My favorite fingers here are the middle and the ring, but especially the middle. I got that idea somewhere on the internet, I just didn't think of saving the link, so I can't really give credit to the right person. :/

This is my first (and possibly last) attempt at marbling. I say last because of the mess, the quantity of product that gets wasted, and the fact that I would need to make a lot more mess and waste a lot more polish to improve my technique. I think I'll invest my energy elsewhere.

This one has several coats of different greens whose names I don't remember. I remember I started with a lime green and ended with the CND Jade Sparkle. I liked it ok, but it wasn't anything special and it was a little bit too thick.

Another green experiment. Here I tried sponging. Not too bad for my first time, but still quite messy and the result is not the best... need more practice!

I loved this one. I don't remember which color I used for the base (I'm pretty sure it was an OPI polish), but for the spots I used the Orly nail art polishes.

This is simple a tribute to my niece Amanda. I did it the day she was born (Oct. 8th, 2011). I still need to learn how not to mess up the polish around my cuticles. I improved a little bit, both in applying the polish and cleaning up the mess, but I still can't do my cuticles on my own very well. So, unless I go to a salon, I never have perfect nails.

Dreams by Neihule in Glamtastic - one of my favorite polishes. The only downside is taking it off. It's all glitter and it takes forever! I love the brand though, and they send you the polishes in pretty boxes that contain inspirational phrases.

This one is my first MAC polish. It looks deep blue in the picture, but it's actually more purple with a blue duotone. I looooove it!

My very first design experiments ... :/

Ok, I don't remember the names of the polishes I used for these designs, in the future I'll try to write them down immediately.

1) Flowers... not so much. I didn't have the right tools and any experience, and it shows! :D

2) Rainbow. Already slightly better, but I wasn't done cleaning the mess on my fingers when I took the picture.

3) This design was my first after getting the Orly Instant Artist polishes. It was much, much easier with these tools, but there's still so much room for improvement! (P.S. This was actually inspired by a design I got at a salon in Chicago)

4) This last one is probably my favorite and it's very simple too.

Hello

I will use this blog to keep track of all my nail polishes and all of my 'experiments'.
I am not a pro, but I like to play with nail polishes and makeup. If you stumble on this blog, feel free to comment, give me suggestions to improve my technique, or simply get ideas for yourself. :)
