Third video - Urban Decay pastel colors

Can you tell I'm on vacay? I managed to edit and upload my third video as well today.
I actually recorded a bunch of videos in the past two months, just for some reason I couldn't drop them on iMovie. No almost everything seems to be working fine (except for the pictures part).
This is another simple and wearable look that is Spring appropriate (is it Spring yet?!... It snowed two days ago!).
Anyway, here's the video:

I was finally able to upload a new video on YouTube. It wasn't easy though!
Originally I wanted to upload a different video, but for some reason I can't drop it on iMovie. So, after trying in vain to find a solution, I decided to upload a different video.
When I tried to edit this second video, random footage was missing, and I wasn't able to add pictures at the end (which I've easily done with my first video). Once again, looking up solutions didn't help.
So, here's my very imperfect second video, but that's fine. I'm doing this for fun and to learn, I'm in no way a pro.
In this spirit, I'm also thinking of starting a series of video in which I simply try to redo looks posted by gurus on YouTube. They make it look so easy, so I can try to record myself to see what I find difficult, what I'm doing wrong, and what needs improvement.

OPI DS Classic

Pedal faster Suzi! lasted a whole week without chipping. I only changed it because I'm normally used to change color every 3/4 days and I got bored.
I opted for another neutral color, since I often go for crazier and brighter ones. I went for OPI DS Classic, which I don't think I ever used before (yes, my collection is that big!). It is a pretty tan/goldish color with very fine glitter. At first I thought the glitter was all silver, but it's also green, blue and red depending on the light/
I love this color, but I think it would look better on a different skin tone than mine. On me, the color tends to disappear a bit.
Also, it chipped less than 24 hours after application, but minimally and only in one finger. So, maybe I didn't apply it well there.
Photos are coming soon. Unfortunately, I still haven't found the right way to photograph my nails well, and the pictures don't do the color justice at all. It looks much more gold, when it actually is more tan and the glitter is very subtle.

OPI Holland collection

I recently went o ULTA looking for Butter London Disco Biscuit and ended up stumbling into the new OPI Holland collection instead.
I wasn't super impressed by the shades overall. Luckily though there were swatches right there, so I was able to see the actual colors. While I was unimpressed by the bottles, I fell in love with the pastel pink (Pedal faster Suzi!). This is not the average pastel; it's a beautiful light pink with a subtle frosty silver shimmer. So pretty!

This is the only photo in which the silver shimmer is a little visible.
I liked the formula, it goes on smoothly and i gives you good coverage in 2 to 3 swatches. Actually 2 are plenty, but I put on a third coat just because I'm super picky!
Also, I've had it on for 5 days now and it hasn't chipped at all, it looks still absolutely perfect.
I also got Kiss me on my tulips, but I haven't used it yet.

Zoya Mimi+Maisie

Today I went to get a 'proper' mani. I always bring my own color with me, otherwise I feel like my collection is going to waste.
The colors I picked are both from Zoya: I have two coats of Mimi, and one coat of Maisie.
I love it!

The pictures don't do the colors justice. The flecks look green in the photos, while they're actually blue. It's really gorgeous, one of my favorite combinations ever.

Nicki Minaj nails

I finally found the OPI Nicki Minaj collection at my local ULTA. I bought the entire collection, but the pink one. I have a few light pinks and I don't really wear them much. I generally prefer brighter, bolder colors.
I started with a base coat and 2 coats of Did it on 'em. Then I let it dry and sponged on 2 coats Fly. With the second coat, I made sure to concentrate on the tip.

After a few minutes I added Save me and a top coat. Finally, I used some fast dry spray.

This is the final result. I like it, but I think it looks much better than in the photos.
The only thing I don't like is that Save me is pretty scratchy and gets stuck everywhere (especially on fabrics).

ORLY Fuchsia French Tip

The other day I found a Sally Beauty Supplies store close to home... trouble!!! I bought a bunch of Orly polishes and I created this cool and simple design.

I know the photo is blurry, but I'm still trying to figure out the best lighting to take these pictures (and I'm not making any progress!).
This is how you can recreate this mani:
- base coat (always!!!)
- 2 coats of Orly Crush on you
- let it dry
- use tape or nail guides on your nails
- add 1 or 2 coats of Orly Passion fruit on your tips
- add Orly Shine on crazy diamond
- top coat (fast dry)
- fast dry spray or drops
You're done!
